Adapt the template
Treat this as a starting structure, not a required staffing model. Keep the positions and reporting lines that describe your organization today, then duplicate the chart to plan future hires.
If one person handles programs and fundraising, assign that person to both positions. Use each position’s description to explain the work. Remove leadership positions you do not need instead of presenting them as filled jobs.
Rename the Director of Programs position to match your organization, then add the teams, coordinator positions, and delivery positions you actually use. If volunteers report to a coordinator, place them below that position. Keep open positions unassigned so readers can distinguish hiring plans from current staffing.
Review the board and executive director relationship with your team before sharing the chart. Use descriptions to explain oversight and day-to-day responsibilities; a reporting line alone does not explain who makes every decision. The role clarity guide can help you document ownership.
For a congregation organized around ministries, see the church org chart guide. For an existing staff list, use the Excel import guide to build from your data with TeamChart Pro.
